Alter B. Metzger is a professor of Jewish Studies at Stern College. He has written widely on Chassidic thought and history, and is a sought-after lecturer and teacher. He served on a team of simultaneous translator of the farbrengens of the Lubavitcher Rebbe for 18 years, and his column 'The Golden Chain' has appeared for over two-and -a-half decades in 'Di Yiddishe Heim' published by the Lubavitch Wormen's Organization.
