Avoth (Pirkei Avot - The Ethics of the Fathers) is the one Talmudic tract that explores the very roots of Judaism. Of all the many commentaries written on Avoth, perhaps the clearest is that written over 300 years ago by Rabbi Yitzchak Magriso (D. 1687) as part of the famed Me'am Lo'ez series.
