The unique Haggadah is dedicated to the glorious yet modest Jewish community of Halab (Aleppo), Syria. The Haggadah is printed in full color, on fine paper, and features original works of art from Halab, as well as historical pictures that shed light on the connections between the city of Halab and the Land of Israel.
The Haggadah also includes an historical introduction, which relates the story of the city of Halab and its Jewish community from its very beginnings to the present day. Printed in Israel.
Further information on the Aleppo Codex:
The Aleppo Codex was written in Tiberias in the 10th century CE. Its text embodies traditions of pronunciation, spelling, punctuation, and cantillation handed down through the generations and finally committed to writing in Tiberias by scholars known as the Masoretes. From Tiberias the book was taken to Jerusalem, to Egypt, and finally to Aleppo, Syria; it was smuggled back to Jerusalem in the 1950s. -The Israel Museum, Jerusalem
