Everyone likes a good story. This book has plenty of them, featuring people from all walks of life. There are stories about well- known sages and stories about ordinary people; tales that relate remarkable events, and others that tell of simple actions which reflect the inner qualities of the character portrayed. Some are tales of excitement, escape and rescue; others are about ordinary, day-to-day life. But what all these stories have in common is their power to educate, to teach and to inspire. The reader meets such luminaries as the Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Issur Zalman Meltzer, Rav Eliezer Yehudah Finkel, and Rabbi Shneur Kotler, and observes how they conduct themselves in their everyday lives.

Other vignettes portray simple, unremarkable people; yet we find that their responses to their own circumstances contain much from which we ourselves can learn. The reader is swept along and caught up in the protagonist's own dilemma. And when each story draws to its satisfactory close, the reader, along with the character, breathes a sigh of relief: another of the countless trials which every mortal must navigate in his service of Heaven has been encountered, and has been conquered!
