The Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson is depicted in fervent prayer upon a cliff in the wilderness. The title of the painting comes from the Psalms: "My soul thirsts for You, as the yearning of flesh in a barren land, exhausted without water." The psalmist compares teh soul in the temporal world to a body in the barren wilderness, thirsting for the water of Torah - the true "living Waters."
Nachshon paints in order to define and emphasize the presence of the Divine will in creation. Each painting can be studied in the manner of a sacred text, providing numerous and vivid insights into the workings of creation and the promises held for the future.
