Peninim, which is prepared and edited by Rabbi A.L. Scheinbaum, originated as a community service project for the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland. Exploring Parshas Hashavua, weekly copies of Peninim were distributed throughout the entire community. Each volume represents selections from one years publications. Each volume contains new commentaries.
Rabbi Scheinbaum selects Torah thoughts form a host of commentaries, ranging form the classic for the contemporary. Peninim maintains an emphasis upon the centrality of Torah study and middos. The author's incisive flair for integrating these ideas into everyday situations is evident throughout this dynamic work. As a bonus feature, he has included questions of varying difficulty on the parsha in order to catalyze family discussion.
