Passover Haggadah Translated by: Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan 6.25"x9" (278 Pages)Publisher: Moznaim, 1989 Part of the "Torah Anthology Tanach" series.
With the exception of the Bible and Prayer Book, the Passover Haggadah is the most popular Jewish book in existence. Literally hundreds of editions have even printed, with almost as many different commentaries. Still, no justification is required for this edition, which contains a translation of Rabbi Yaakov Culi's famous MeAm Loez on the Haggadah. No author is as able to extract the essence of a classical text, and present it so as to appeal to the most advanced scholar as well as to the person with virtually no background. The Haggadah text here follows the Sephardic rite, found in the first edition of MeAm Lo'ez on Exodus (Constantinople, 1734). For the benefit of Ashkenazim using the volume, Ashkenazic variations are also included where they are significantly different. This also affords the opportunity for comparison. In translating the Haggadah itself, the simple, concise style of the Hebrew text was retained. The language of the Haggadah translation is simple enough for even young children to follow.
