The Torah of Moses grants those who truly live by these 7 laws a place in the eternal World to Come.
1. Believe in G-d. Do not worship idols. The essence of life is to recognize the Creator of the universe, to believe in Him and accept His laws with awe and love.
2. Respect G-d and praise Him. Do not blaspheme His name. When we are disappointed or upset, it is easy to accuse others, including G-d. To curse G-d or others in His name is an act of disloyalty and rebellion.
3. Respect human life. Do not murder. This prohibition, which includes abortion, protects us from extremes of inner selfishness, which may emerge as violence.
4. Respect the family. Do not commit forbidden sexual acts. Wholesome families are the cornerstones of healthy communities and societies. Nations which have condoned immorality - adultery, bestiality, homosexuality or incest - have never lasted. Sexual immorality leads to a ruthless society.
5. Respect the rights and property of others. Do not steal. Since our sustenance comes from G-d, we should seek to earn it honestly, not by robbing or cheating.
6. Create courts of law. Pursue justice. It is our responsibility to establish a system of courts and judges to fairly enforce and guarantee the other 6 laws.
7. Respect all creatures. Do not eat meat that was removed from a live animal. We must not eat meat taken from an animal while its heart was still beating. We are the caretakers of G-d's creation.
When we fulfill our potential within the context of these 7 laws, the creation is nurtured and elevated to realize its goal.
