| Hanukkah (Chanukah) is celebrated on the 25th day of Kislev. Chanukah festival commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem. When the Temple was liberated there was only enough pure oil to light the Menorah for one day. Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days. Therefore we light the Menorah on Chanukah in remembrance of this miracle. |
