Description: The flame in the center of the Jerusalem menorah is the eternal light, the ner tamid. The ner tamid, a continuous light in front of the ark , also symbolizes the eternal faith of the Jewish people. The flame, overlooking the city, is a safeguard to keep the city of Jerusalem safe in the eyes of the artist. What a marvelous gift this would be to light up any home at the time of the celebration of Hanukkah.
The menorah is constructed as a traditional stained glass panel. Each piece of glass is patterned, hand cut, ground on a grinding machine, wrapped in copper, fitted in place, and then soldered. The nine candle holders are adhered to the base - one for each of the eight nights of Hanukkah and one, the shammos, to light the other candles. The wood base shown is no longer available and a glass base has been substituted
