Birth & Brit Milah
Birth & Brit Milah
A Jewish life begins at birth. Boys are given a Brit Milah (circumcision) on the eighth day of life. This ceremony is celebrated with a festive meal. Girls are named at the Synagogue during the reading of the Torah. Firstborn children must be redeemed with the ceremony of "Pidyan Ha'Ben".
