| A tallit (tallis in Ashkenazic Hebrew and Yiddish) is a Jewish prayer shawl worn in the synagogue on the Sabbath and holidays, and while reciting morning prayers (Shacharit). The tallit has special twined and knotted fringes known as tzitzit attached to its four corners.
