Almost floating this spice box was inspired by heavenly, rotating planets. This unique spice box resembles the planet Saturn. (Saturn is associated with Shabbat.) Anodized aluminum by Israeli artist Avia Agayof. The polished ring has the cut-out Hebrew words "Boreh Basimim" - the words that conclude the havdalah blessing over the spices. The planetary body Saturn, in Hebrew called Shabbatai, comes from the three-letter Hebrew root for Shabbat. Saturn (or Shabbatai) was the seventh planetary body known to the ancient Jews. Seven is, of course, a special number of rest and is important in Jewish numerology.
